He was also one of my favorite teachers. I remember one time when he held me and another student over causing us to be late for our next class. He gave us a note saying, “Please excuse these two culprits from being late for class.” I still have it.
He was also the varsity baseball coach. He coached Brien Bickerton (Class of ’67) during Brien’s CIF winning year (details at Brien’s page of what he accomplished).
He was a favorite of mine also. One time, another guy and I were “held up” by another teacher which caused us to be late for our next class with Mr. Guess. The teacher gave us an excuse: “Please excuse these culprits for being late.” I loved it! I still have it in my yearbook.
One of my favorite teachers. RIP, Mr. Guess.
He was one of my favorite teachers also!

ONE OF THE VERY BEST AND KINDEST TEACHERS WE EVER HAD. FOREVER MISSED.
